I chose this drawing because it has the best line quality and shows my progress in drawing. Many of my previous pieces were vere elementary with little thought and design but when drawing this leaf I tried to focus on its shadows and true shape. I found this leaf on the sidewalk while walking to class one day and chose it because it was curved all around itself and I felt that it would be the perfect leaf for me to draw. I took it to my studio of creation and begin observing and delicately sketching this leaf. I really like my usage of shading in this peice and the curvature of lines so that it represents the leafs true form.
