IOB through Principles and Elements of Design- Blog Post 004
From the beginning of our processing of our ideas now, texture has been a really important element for the Industries of the Blind project. We have all explored different forms and scales of texture, settling on very angular and mosaic form that brings our focus of community into a more unified design. We are playing with the scale of textures and as Patrick mentioned, our hexagonal shape is very reflective of understanding the whole through the powers of 10. Our hexagonal shape starts out as a series of individual triangles making up a hexagon which in turn pans out to a series of hexagons and triangles making up other hexagons and triangles. We have chosen warm colors to help complement our design throughout the space because we feel it brings out order rather than chaos. I think overall our project focus is to bring balance to the IOB through angular lines, forms, and textures. Our goal is for all these components began to harmonize and work as one unity which can become the brand for IOB.
